Migrants on the Polish-Belarusian border. Father professor Alfred Wierzbicki comments
On Friday, on TVN24, Professor Alfred Wierzbicki, theologian and ethicist from the Department of Ethics at the Catholic University of Lublin, spoke about this situation.
– It is not only about the state, because it is a deceptive logic when we say that we care about the security of the state. There are always people in front of you – he emphasized.
In his opinion, the arrival of migrants to the border with Poland “was to be expected, because Lukashenka is trying to transfer refugees to the European Union countries.” – These people are already a victim of Lukashenka, this is a huge human drama – he stressed.
As Professor Wierzbicki said, the scenes on the Polish-Belarusian border “insult the feeling of humanity and human dignity”.
– I have a sad impression that there is a wicked conspiracy against refugees in Poland – he said. In his opinion, “since the election campaign in 2015 our thinking has been heavily polluted, even poisoned”.
– Although there were beautiful statements from the Church that the refugee has the face of Christ, I am ashamed for my fellow Christians, who see the enemy in the refugee – admitted the TVN24 guest.
