Someone spilled several kilograms of spoiled cheese in the forest in Ustrzyki Dolne (Podkarpacie). However, by the time the rangers came with the containers to clean up the stinking find, they had all disappeared. The forest district appeals: such waste poses a serious threat to forest animals.
The cheese was dumped in the Orelec forestry. They could attract predators and pose a threat to animals that would eat this unusual buffet. Before the rangers came to pick up the cheese, however, these had disappeared. Maciej Szpiech, the forest inspector, suspects that the owner’s conscience was disturbed and he came back to collect dangerous waste. “So much good that at least he went to his senses,” says Spiech.
“Together, let’s take care of the good that has been entrusted to us”
The forest inspectorate made an appeal on social media not to repeat this mistake. “If I sow cheese resembling” oscypek “, will we grow little lambs? (…) We make an appeal – let us care for the good that has been entrusted to us!” – we read in the entry.
– Such cheeses can be sold cheaper or given to someone while they are still good. Alternatively, throw it in a designated place, if it breaks down – explains the forest inspector. He also emphasizes that this prank has nothing to do with the producers of highland cheese in the area.
Although the cheese is gone, its owner will not be spared the consequences. The forest inspectorate transferred the matter to the Lesko police.
