Pope Francis arrived in the Popemobile in St. Peter’s Square to preside over the Palm Sunday service. Before the mass, he walked around the square among the numerous faithful who had been coming to the place since early morning.

The mass in the decorated square in front of the Vatican Basilica was preceded by a procession with olive branches and palm leaves.

A solemn mass is celebrated at the altar by the subdean of the College of Cardinals, Cardinal Leonardo Sandri. The Pope will deliver a homily.
