Cable networks Vectra and Multimedia Polska have recently sent their customers emails informing them of changes to all agreements concluded by November 10, 2024, and the accompanying regulations. On that day, the Electronic Communications Law (PKE) comes into force, from which the announced steps result – informs the portal Virtual Media.
The changes apply not only to Vectra and Multimedia Polska, but also to other networks, whose customers can expect similar information in the near future. – These modifications are necessary to adapt and unify the contracts of all customers with the requirements of PKE – the Vectra press office told the portal.
Vectra and Multimedia Polska change their contracts. This will affect, among other things, the increase in fees
The changes mainly concern the way in which the company can modify the terms of contracts in the future, including the issue of increasing fees. In April this year, Vectra abandoned the clause allowing for price indexation during the commitment period for new customers and those who extend the contract. This provision was previously the subject of numerous customer complaints to the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection, which led to charges being brought against the operator. More on this topic in the article below:
Thanks to PKE, these changes will also apply to other customers. Provisions regarding the indexation of fees will be removed from contracts during the commitment period, after the commitment period has elapsed, and without the commitment period. An increase will therefore be possible only on the basis of the premises included in the act.
When will Vectra be able to modify the terms of the contract?
Portal Telepolis indicates that in the case of customers with fixed-term contracts, modification of the contract terms will only be possible in the event of: changes in legal regulations affecting the provision of telecommunications services, decisions of the President of the Office of Electronic Communications or objective, unforeseen circumstances affecting the costs of providing services.
Vectra reserves more options for customers whose contracts have expired and those who have contracts without a scope of commitment. In their case, changes in fees and services may also be introduced in the event of: a change in the consumer price index (CPI), the introduction or increase of public fees, as well as changes resulting from court decisions or administrative regulations.
If the changes are not accepted, customers can submit a notice of termination by November 9. In the case of customers who are in the commitment period, however, this may result in the need to return the granted discounts.
