Retention of registration certificates and the need to replace the lamps. Thus, for some drivers, the light checks carried out by the police together with the Motor Transport Institute ended. In the autumn and winter period, when visibility deteriorates, the vehicle lights become particularly important. The correct operation of the lamps depends, apart from their general technical condition, on the correct height adjustment, the correct distribution of the cut-off line and the intensity of the emitted light.
That is why the Road Traffic Office of the Police Headquarters together with the Motor Transport Institute initiated the “Your lights – our safety” campaign. Road checks are also planned as part of the campaign. For this, a computer light analyzer is used, it can pick up a number of irregularities, it measures every parameter in all conditions.
– We do not need laboratory conditions for this, we can also do it in traffic conditions – explained Mikołaj Krupiński, spokesman for the Motor Transport Institute.
The drivers themselves know that poorly adjusted lights hinder driving. – Often the cars on the opposite side are shocking, often in the evening, when it is raining, they are blinding terribly – indicated one of them, whose car was stopped for inspection. Part of the inspection ended with the retention of registration certificates and the need to replace the lamps.
