The 78th Venice International Film Festival is slowly making history. The biggest stars of world cinema have already gathered on the island of Lido. On Saturday evening, awards will be given, for which Jan P. Matuszyński’s “Let there be no traces” is also fighting.
The 78th Venice International Film Festival starts on September 1. There are 21 films in the Main Competition. Poland was represented by the second feature film by Jan P. Matuszyński, “Let there be no traces”, about the case of Grzegorz Przemyk. The script, the author of which is Kaja Krawczyk-Wnuk, was based on a report by Cezary Łazarewicz. The main roles were played by: Tomasz Ziętek, Sandra Korzeniak, Agnieszka Grochowska, Mateusz Górski, Tomasz Kot and Jacek Braciak.

The festival was opened by Pedro Almodovar’s latest film “Parallel Mothers”, which was recognized by critics as the best work of the Spanish master since “Talk to her”. In addition, the latest titles of such renowned directors as Jane Campion, Paolo Sorrentino, Paul Schrader and the brothers Damiano and Fabio D’Innocenzo competed for the Golden Lion.
This year’s jury was headed by Bong Joon Ho, the creator of the Oscar-winning “Parasite”. And the jurors, next to the Korean, were two men and four women: Saverio Costanzo (Italian director), Virginie Efira (Belgian actress), Cynthia Erivo (British actress), Sarah Gadon (Canadian actress), Alexander Nanau (Romanian director) and Chloe Zhao (Chinese filmmaker).
