Venice raises ticket prices for admission to the Basilica of Saint Mark

From July 1, the Basilica of Saint Marek in Venice will be available only after earlier online booking, and the price of the admission ticket will increase from 6 to 10 euros. This is another step taken in this city to face the increasing phenomenon of so -called excessive tourism.

Admission tickets to the famous, about 1000 years old basilica will be named, which is to prevent their reselling. With this ticket you can also enter 40 other historic churches in the city.

School trips with teachers, children under 10 years of age, as well as residents of the Venice diocese will be able to enter the church for free.

In the period from April 18 to July 27, Venice in Venice has the requirement to register visits to the city and charge for entry from tourists who will not stop there for accommodation. The fee is 5 or 10 euros, and the higher rate will be paid by those who book the last minute.

The requirement to register and a possible fee applies every Friday, Saturday and Sunday to July 27. It applies to people over the age of 14, coming to the Historical Center of Venice from 8.30-16.
