Venice. Spanish actor Gabriel Guevara arrested

Spanish actor Gabriel Guevara, star of the film “My Fault”, was arrested at the Venice Film Festival, where he was supposed to receive an award. An international arrest warrant has been issued for the actor in connection with an alleged sexual assault that took place in France, reports the Hollywood Reporter.

Gabriel Guevara, 22, was arrested by Italian police on Saturday during the 80th Venice International Film Festival. A day later, the Spaniard was to receive the award for best young actor from Filming Italy, it says Hollywood Reporter.

After information about the actor’s detention hit the media, the studio reversed its decision, calling its move a “precautionary measure” until the case against Guevera was completed.

The Festival’s official profile on the X platform (formerly Twitter) posted a statement saying that “the presence in Venice of the Spanish actor Gabriel Guevara, who, according to some media, was arrested, was not related to any activity or production of the International Film Festival.”

According to media reports, the international arrest warrant that led to the actor’s detention was issued at the request of the French authorities. The Spaniard is accused of sexual assault.

A rising star of Spanish showbiz

Gabriel Guevara Mourreau was born on February 6, 2001. He is an actor and model of Spanish-French origin. The 22-year-old gained popularity with the role of Cristian Miralles Haro in the teen series “Skam EspaƱa”.

He also starred as Nick Leister in the Prime Video film “My Fault”, based on the best-selling series of novels “Wattpad” by Mercedes Ron.
