In an Instagram post, Oprah Winfrey reported that she and her family accompanied her father at the time of his death.
She posted a recording, made less than a week before her father’s death, in which her friend and gospel singer Wintley Phipps sings a song dedicated to Vernon Winfrey.
As the journalist noted, her father “felt love and expressed it until he was no longer able to speak”. “Yesterday, with the family surrounding his bed, I had the sacred honor of witnessing the man who gave me life breathe his last breath. After he passed away, we felt the peace that filled the room. This peace continues. Everything is fine. Thank you for yourselves. prayers and good thoughts, wrote Winfrey.
Earlier this week, Oprah Winfrey reported on social media that the family had organized a party in honor of her father on July 4. “He thought it was supposed to be an Independence Day celebration,” the journalist added in a video quoted by Reuters.
