Almost 12 km long section of the S19 – part of Via Carpatia
The section of S19, the road which is also part of the Via Carpatia route, between Babica and Jawornik will be 11.6 km long. As part of the investment, there will also be built, among others road junction located in the area of the towns of Strzyżów and Czudec. A Travelers Service Center Jawornik (towards Rzeszów) will also be built.
There will also be seven flyovers on very high supports, including the largest flyover with a length of approx. 1.15 km and pillars with a height of approx. 100 m. Six viaducts and three passages for animals will also be built.
As emphasized by Rarus, a temporary link will also be built with the national road No. 19 in Jawornik.
– It is the result of the construction of the S19 in stages between Babica and Domaradz and the division into two sections: Babica-Jawornik (with a temporary connection S19 with the national road number 19) and Jawornik-Domaradz. Ultimately, after the construction of the second section, the S19 expressway will not connect with the DK19 in Jawornik. In the footsteps of the temporary link, there will be a commune road serving, inter alia, emergency services as an emergency entrance to the S19 by MOP Jawornik – she explained
Via Carpatia – section S19 Babica – Jawornik
The section of the S19 Babica-Jawornik expressway will run through an area with a complex geological structure. Therefore, at the stage of developing the Program Concept, a wide survey of the geological structure of the subsoil was performed.
As explained by Rarus, the route will alternate between hills and valleys, most of which are deep ravines with rivers and streams flowing at their bottom. – Conducting geological works was a very big challenge and the same challenge for the contractor will be construction works here – she added.
In the area where the section is to be built, there are, among others, 13 landslide and landslide areas. As part of the geological survey of the subsoil structure, geophysical surveys, drilling and sounding were performed.
The S19 expressway in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship will ultimately be approx. 169 km long. So far, over 30 km have been put into operation, over 64 km are under construction, and approx. 74 are under preparation.
The S19 expressway is an element of the international Via Carpatia route, connecting Northern and Southern Europe. In Poland, this route will be over 700 km long and will run through the Podlaskie, Mazowieckie, Lubelskie and Podkarpackie voivodeships.
