He estimated that there is “great enthusiasm” in Brussels regarding Trump's inauguration, especially among members of his Patriots for Europe party. – The great attack can begin. I hereby begin the second phase of the offensive, the aim of which is to occupy Brussels, said the Hungarian Prime Minister, sharpening his anti-EU rhetoric.

Party Fidesz Orban and other right-wing parties founded the Patriots for Europe party in the European Parliament last year. It is now the third force in the European parliament.

Orban: we are the opposition to the system in Brussels

The new tariffs that Trump has promised to impose on imports from the European Union will hit the Hungarian economy and increase inflation – Reuters points out. The agency also reminds that Viktor Orban criticized the European Union's sanctions against Russia and maintained close relations with Moscow from the beginning war in Ukraine.

– We in Hungary are the opposition to the system in Brussels. (…) Brussels is occupied by a left-liberal oligarchy, said the Hungarian Prime Minister.
