The Ministry had only PLN 40 million, so it had to make a choice, said Deputy Finance Minister Artur Soboń (PiS) in “Kropka nad i”. He referred to subsidies worth millions for the purchase of real estate, granted by Minister Przemysław Czarnek and the Ministry of Education to foundations associated with PiS. Michał Kobosko (Poland 2050 Szymona Hołownia) said that “the minister, under pressure from the media, under pressure from the opposition, is withdrawing” partly from the decision, because the foundations “agreed today to an annex” changing the terms of use of the property.

Journalists tvn24.pl Justyna Suchecka-Jadczak and Piotr Szostak described how money from the fund of the Minister of Education and Science Przemysław Czarnek went to organizations close to PiS. Multi-million subsidies were allocated for the purchase of new premises. Houses in Warsaw’s Mokotów and Ursynów districts, an apartment in a historic tenement house, a plot with two ponds, its own forest and a “beekeeper’s house” – these are just some of the properties that Czarnek financed with public money. Every second one awarded by Czarnek the organization first received a negative assessment of the submitted application.

Soboń argued that “in total, there were 500 million applications.” – Indeed, non-governmental organizations trust the Ministry of Education and Science, they were very willing to apply for these funds from various places in Poland – he assessed. – The ministry had only PLN 40 million, so it had to make a choice – he added.

Kobosko: pressure makes sense

Kobosko said that “we have good news this day”. He referred to the words of Przemysław Czarnek, who said in the Sejm that organizations “today” sign annexes to contractsaccording to which it will not be possible to sell real estate – for which the ministry has provided funding – for 15 years.

– The minister, under the pressure of the media, under the pressure of the opposition, is withdrawing to the extent that it seems that those foundations or associations that received subsidies agreed today to an annex that it will no longer be 5 years, but 15 years – said the TVN24 guest. “What I’m saying is that the pressure makes sense,” he explained.

In his opinion, “the fact that we have been talking about it for a week and we will talk about it for weeks and months is right.” – Because the practice is extremely reprehensible, it is a practice of a simple, one would like to say primitive, of pumping public money into the pockets and treasury of, one might say, non-governmental organizations. But only those organizations that are relatives and friends of the rabbit, that are close to the ruling party, he added.

Before on TVN24 Justyna Suchecka-Jadczak drew attentionthat the minister did not mention which organizations he was referring to. She noted that even if some organizations enter a range of 15 years, “it’s still not a story that they can’t make money from these places.” As noted by Konkret24this fifteen-year period can then be amended by a further annex.
