Visa scandal at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Informants say that Wawrzyk would not do anything without Minister Rau’s consent. Dariusz Joński and Piotr Zgorzelski comment

August 31, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki dismissed Piotr Wawrzyk from the position of Secretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. As explained by the Ministry of Diplomacy, the reason for this decision was “lack of satisfactory cooperation”.

At the same time, the Prosecutor’s Office and Central Anticorruption Bureau conduct investigations into irregularities in submitting visa applications. The opposition talks about corruption and claims that hundreds of thousands of visas issued are suspicious.

This matter was discussed in “Kropka nad i” on TVN24 by Dariusz Joński from the Civic Coalition and the Deputy Speaker of the Sejm Piotr Zgorzelski from PSL/Third Way. The host of the program, Monika Olejnik, said that she invited the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Zbigniew Rau, but received a reply that he would not appear.

Joński, together with MP Michał Szczerba, are carrying out parliamentary inspections on this matter. – Today we showed documents showing that Minister Rau knew about everything. The fact that he comes out today and says “I didn’t hear it, I didn’t know it, I’m rich”, maybe it’s good for Nowogrodzka, but not for us – said Joński.

– First of all, (Rau) is a law professor and he knows perfectly well what documents were submitted. Secondly, his deputy minister and his people prepared a regulation that would have entered into force – let me remind you – if it were not for Donald Tusk, which showed “look what they want to do”. And they wanted to issue 400,000 visas in Łódź, in this visa center. Over five years, that would be two million visas, he continued. – Today we showed documents showing that employers informed Minister Rau, showing exactly how much money had to be paid to join the queue (for a visa – ed.), he continued.

– Our parliamentary control now goes beyond the country’s borders. Entrepreneurs and people from all over the world call us. Today, a man from a large Asian country called and told a Polish diplomatic mission about the system that operates in that country. that this is our Polish inspection, where he has been submitting (visa applications – ed.) for ten welders for ten months. It turns out that there is a visa lottery, which is absolutely non-transparent – it is not known who draws, how they draw, the results are shown the next day – Dariusz Joński described the situation.

Piotr Zgorzelski said that “there is such a thing as honorary ability.” – From a minister who takes an oath in the Presidential Palace to the constitution and all the values ​​that are important to us, this should be a sufficient motive to simply resign – he said.

– Minister Rau not only lies, but – one could say – also cheats – he added.

As he said, it is embarrassing for Poland that “we have actually become an international, democratically uncontrolled migration hub. As he added, it is “compromising” that through Poland into the Schengen structure “some corrupt criminal machine has been infected, at a time when Poland is frontline country.
