A patrol from the Border Guard Post in Braniewo noticed that a man had entered the lane of the border road. Devices monitoring the state border registered a tourist in the area of the Vistula Lagoon. The 53-year-old explained to border guards that he wanted to see what the Polish-Russian border looked like.

“We urge you to pay attention to the information boards and state border markings during tourist trips. This time, the border was not crossed against the regulations, but remember that entering the border road lane is also punishable by a fine of up to PLN 500” – summarize the border guards.
There are criminal consequences for crossing the state border in places not designated for this purpose. Such behavior, depending on the circumstances, is considered a crime or misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of up to PLN 500 or imprisonment for up to three years.
