Russian President Vladimir Putin claims that he greatly supports a truce in Ukraine, but reserves that Moscow cares about “lasting peace”. This, however, will be achieved only by eliminating “basic causes of conflict”. He did not mention what they would be during the meeting with the media on Thursday afternoon.

Putin met on Thursday with the Belarusian dictator Alaxander Lukashenko.

Later he referred to the possible implementation of the proposal of a 30-day truce in the fight against Ukraine.

He stated that such a 30-day suspension of weapons would be beneficial for Ukraine. At the same time, he suggested that 30 days of truce could give Ukraine time to organize a new mobilization and accept the weapons brought to them freshly from the west.

Putin said that “many issues” regarding the truce remains open and asked the question about “who would control the truce on the front line of two thousand kilometers”.

He also thanked the US President Donald Trump for his efforts to end the war and added that Russia He must talk to Washington about the details. He noted that he could talk to Trump by phone.

More information soon.
