Donald Trump said in the oval office that Vladimir Putin can deliberately delay the start of peace conversations with Ukraine. “We'll find out if he guards us or not,” said Trump.

On Wednesday, US President Donald Trump said that Russian President Vladimir Putin “may deliberately delay negotiations on the suspension of weapons” in Ukraine. He also expressed disappointment with Russian bombardment.

– We'll find out if he lets us or not. If he lodges, we will react differently – Trump told journalists in the oval office.

When asked about additional sanctions for Russia, he said that he did not want additional punishments to interfere with peace conversations. “I think we are close to the conclusion of the contract and I do not want to spoil it by imposing additional sanctions,” he said.

Trump negatively about Putin

On Monday, Trump also negatively assessed Putin's decisions. – I don't like what Putin is doing. He kills many people. What about hell has happened to Putin? I have known him for a long time, I have always got along with him, but he fires rockets in the city and kills people. I don't like it. We are in the process of talks and he shoots rockets in Kyiv and other cities. I don't like it at all – he told journalists. He admitted that he was “very surprised” by the behavior of Russia's leader.

May 19 Donald Trump talked to Vladimir Putin on the phone. The conversation lasted over two hours. In his opinion, the conversation went “very well”. “Russia and Ukraine will immediately begin negotiations heading for the suspension of weapons and – more importantly – the end of the war” – wrote the US president.
