Volodymyr Zelensky appeared in the general debate of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly. – Some of our friends in Europe seem to be playing off each other, but in fact they are helping to set the stage for the actor from Moscow – said the Ukrainian president.
– What we see is alarming: some in Europe, like some of our friends in Europe, are playing with our solidarity in political theater, turning the grain issue into a thriller, said the president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday in New York in a speech at the general debate of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
– It seems that they are playing on each other, but in fact they are helping to prepare the stage for the actor from Moscow – said the Ukrainian leader.
The President of Ukraine noted that Russia fights not only with weapons, but also uses other means – including: food shortages, energy and nuclear blackmail.
Zelensky emphasized that Russia wants – by causing a food crisis – to force the recognition of “part, if not all” of the Ukrainian territories it has occupied.
The president talked about the situation in Ukraine on Tuesday Andrzej Duda. After speaking during the General Assembly, he stated that Ukraine was like a drowning man “A drowning person is extremely dangerous because he can drag you to the depths”. He said that today Ukraine and Poland are in a situation of “a drowning man grasping at straws” and a rescuer.

Zelensky: Russia starts a new war every decade
– Part of the territories Moldova and Georgia is occupied. Russia has transformed Syria into ruin. And if it weren’t for Russia, chemical weapons would never have been used there. Russia almost absorbed Belarus. It is obvious that he is threatening Kazakhstan and the Baltic states, Zelensky also said.
He added that the aim of the current war against Ukraine is to destroy the rules-based international order. – If he is successful, many seats in this hall may be empty – he warned the audience.
As he emphasized, while Russia is pushing the world towards the “last war”, Ukraine is doing everything to ensure that after this aggression no one will dare to attack another country.
He called for the implementation of the “peace formula” proposed by Ukraine, which, as he argued, would prevent all forms of aggression. “Together we can breathe life back into the United Nations Charter and guarantee the full strength of a rules-based world order,” he said.
