In his New Year’s address, President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine is becoming stronger in overcoming difficulties. – Ukraine is alive and fighting. Ukraine is making progress. Ukraine is winning, he said.

– If you ask millions of Ukrainians how this year was, you can get millions of different answers. Everyone will remember something different (…) 676 days ago we all faced a challenge. Rockets were coming at us from all sides. (…) Ukraine she became stronger. Ukrainians have become stronger, he said Volodymyr Zelensky in the New Year’s message published on social media.

– Ukraine is alive and fighting. Ukraine is making progress. Ukraine wins. Ukraine is working. Ukraine exists. And all this is not a New Year’s miracle. It’s not a fairy tale, it’s not magic, but the merit of each of you – he added.

– Unfortunately, the war separated families, took away sons and daughters, and at the same time united us into one big family. (…) Those who couldn’t stay at home went to the front. And those who could no longer be abroad, somewhere far from home, returned. (…) And today we welcome the New Year together. We will sing our national anthem together – the national anthem of Ukraine. With love to Ukraine. And this love is stronger than disappointment. This love for Ukraine is the driving force that the invaders are so afraid of. Know that your enemies are actually very afraid of you. (…) And next year the enemy will feel our fury – Zelensky encouraged his compatriots. – Our weapons, our equipment, artillery, our missiles, our drones, with all of these we will “welcome” the invader – he said.

– And separately, I want to thank each country that joined the coalition for the return of Ukrainian children abducted by Russia. Thank you to all our partners. (…) This year, 6,000 air alarms were overcome in Ukraine. (…) And no matter how many rockets the enemy releases, no matter how many shellings and attacks there will be – vile, merciless, indiscriminate – aimed at breaking us, Ukrainians, intimidating, destroying Ukraine, driving it underground, we will rise anyway. (…) And just like on December 31 last year, we say today: “We don’t know for sure what the new year will bring us.” But this year we can add: “No matter what it brings, we will be stronger.” I wish you, your families and loved ones, warmth and health. Glory to Ukraine!” concluded Volodymyr Zelensky.
