Missile alarms in Kiev are a daily occurrence. On November 7, he stopped the interview in “Fakty po Faktach”. Fortunately, only shrapnel fell from the sky in the capital of Ukraine, but in Kharkov a bomb fell on an apartment block. Ukraine needs support to defend itself against Putin's terror. Support comes not only from weapons from the West, but also from foreign volunteers who go to the front.
On the night of November 7-8, air raid alerts were announced twice in Kiev. The city was once again attacked by drones and missiles. The Ukrainian capital is beyond the reach of 1970s-era glide bombs, which have between half a ton and three tons of explosives.
The same cannot, unfortunately, be said about Kharkov, where such bombs fell that night. Medics had to evacuate the injured to the metro station because another alarm was announced during the rescue operation. Earlier, a half-ton bomb fell on an apartment block.
– We were blocked in the apartment. We screamed for help. Fortunately, rescuers arrived quickly and broke down the door. There was smoke everywhere. We would suffocate, Maryna Iremetiewa, a resident of the destroyed block, told journalists.
Rocket attacks on Ukrainian cities
Russian missiles and drones also hit Odessa. – The shock wave destroyed everything. He was flying very low – described Halyna Jasinska, a resident of Odessa.
In Zaporozhye, seven people were killed in Wednesday's airstrike. – My child is in intensive care. His wife was also taken to hospital with broken bones, said Dmytro Palapko, a man injured in the Russian attack.
Russian glide bombs do not reach Kiev, but drones and missiles do. Air alerts lasting many hours are a daily occurrence. November 7, prof. Katarzyna Pirska, guest of the “Fakty po Faktach” program, had to interrupt her speech because an air raid alarm sounded.
Every night is destruction and wounds. Debris from a downed drone fell on a 34-story building in the center of Kiev. Russia uses terror, and Ukraine needs support to defend itself against it.
American volunteers are helping Ukraine in its fight
The United States has provided tens of billions of dollars worth of weapons to Ukraine, but weapons are not everything. American volunteers also reach the Dnieper, such as a Texan nicknamed Saxon. – Free people should defend people who are trying to be free. This is an obligation and responsibility, because only then will free people be able to survive in a world where someone wants to kill freedom, says Saxon.
Saxon served in the Ukrainian Marines. He fought in Donbas, then crossed the Dnieper. He lost an arm in the bloody battles for the foothold in Krynki. – I thought I broke my arm, but when I looked at it, it looked completely different than my brain told me. So far, I think I have a hand, he says.
Mando has five years in the US Airborne Troops. Now, as a civilian, he came to Ukraine. He enlisted in the third assault brigade. “If we don't stop them here in Ukraine, this will turn into a bigger, more costly war, with even more innocent people paying the price,” he says.
The American completed five weeks of training. He will soon go to the front. – Everyone will die someday. Nobody lives forever. The key question is: what do you live for? – says Mando.
