Police officers from Wałcz detained a man who, threatening him with a fake gun, forced a man to buy a pack of cigarettes. The 45-year-old was charged with extortion. A few days later, he was detained for abusing his parents and making threats against his sister. By court order, he was temporarily arrested for three months.
Police officers from Wałcz (West Pomeranian Voivodeship) were informed that in a shop, a 45-year-old forced a young man to buy a pack of cigarettes, threatening him and showing him that he had an object resembling a weapon in his pocket. After receiving the report, the officers quickly detained the suspect. They found a fake weapon on him.
Staff Sergeant Beata Budzyń, press officer at the District Police Headquarters in Wałcz, said that at the time of the incident the 45-year-old was under the influence of alcohol. The man was charged with extortion, received police supervision and was banned from contacting the injured party.

“I don't know what got into my head”
After a few days, officers arrested the 45-year-old in connection with abusing his parents and making criminal threats against his sister. Prosecutor Ewa Dziadczyk, spokeswoman for the District Prosecutor's Office in Koszalin, said that the man had already given an explanation in this case and confessed to all the acts. – The suspect admitted that he did not know what had gotten into his head to threaten someone in the store with a fake weapon – she added.
In connection with the prosecutor's charges, the court imposed a three-month temporary arrest on the man. He faces up to 10 years in prison.
