Prime Minister Donald Tusk has his own specific charm and energy. The leaders of the remaining coalition parties lack courage in relations with him, said PSL senator and former prime minister Waldemar Pawlak on TVN24. In his opinion, there should be weekly meetings of the leaders of the coalition parties, because this is “the minimum to ensure that the coalition does not erode.”

Waldemar Pawlak spoke, among other things, about the condition of the current ruling coalition. When asked about the emerging opinions that “nothing will happen without Donald Tusk, not even discussions about strategy”, he replied: – In my opinion, this may be due to the lack of boldness of the remaining leaders of the democratic coalition in relations with Donald Tusk.

He admitted that the Prime Minister “is intimidating, has his own specific charm and energy.” – I have found out that sometimes there are difficult and sharp conversations, but in the end, if we stick to hard specifics, we come to good conclusions. So it is worth it for the democratic coalition to engage in serious disputes, avoid trifles and fights over small things, he emphasized.

He pointed out that “Donald Tusk returned from Europe after two terms of chairing the European Council.” – Its political weight has certainly increased significantly. This should all the more encourage the leaders of democratic groups to conduct leadership meetings intensively, week after week. This is the minimum so that the coalition does not erode – said the TVN24 guest.

Pawlak: this is the time horizon we anticipate for the Third Way

When asked if he saw a future for the Third Way, Pawlak replied: – Yes, because we have agreed on cooperation that will ultimately lead to the presidential elections and the common candidate here is Szymon HoĊ‚ownia.

– The agreement provides for such a time horizon for the Third Way format – he pointed out.

– In our opinion, looking at the previous election results, we see the need to propose a candidate who is, on the one hand, democratic, has some progressive elements, but is also more appreciated by the conservative side – said the former prime minister.
