At the moment, the stage of the battle of the second strategic throws on the Russian side and on the Ukrainian side is being prepared – said General Stanisław Koziej, former head of the National Security Bureau, in “Kropka nad i”. He added that Russia could throw several hundred thousand more soldiers into the fight, although less trained. Former Polish ambassador to Ukraine Jan Piekło assessed that the Russian president is not ready for defeat. “For Putin, losing is tantamount to a sentence on him,” he said.
Former Polish ambassador in Kiev Jan Piekło and General Stanisław Koziej, former head of the National Security Bureau and former deputy head of the Ministry of National Defense, spoke in “Kropka nad i” on TVN24 about the situation on the front in Ukraine.
– At the moment, the stage of the battle of the second strategic throws on the Russian side and on the Ukrainian side is being prepared. These first throws are in close quarters, they stick to each other, they check each other, nothing much changes there. However, the battle of the second strategic rolls will decide. The Russians have mobilized large forces, as we hear, Koziej pointed out.
According to the former head of the BBN, “100, 200 or even 300,000 Russian soldiers may still be involved somewhere.” – It is true that this is the second echelon, weaker than the first one in terms of training and equipment, but still big – he reserved.
– In my opinion, a decisive battle of the second strategic echelons is coming up, which will probably determine the further fate of this war for a long time, perhaps for years, in the form of some kind of truce or even peace agreements – assessed the general.
“For Putin, defeat is synonymous with a sentence on him”
Former ambassador Jan Piekło was asked if the Russians were prepared to lose. – The Russians are not prepared for this and he is not prepared for this either Vladimir Putin. Anyway, for Putin, a defeat is tantamount to a sentence on him, assessed Piekło.
According to the diplomat, “even his own people can simply hand him over to The Hague, possibly to another tribunal.” – It is very encouraging that at the moment we are already thinking about the trial of criminals, including Vladimir Putin – he added.
Friction in the Kremlin. “It’s slowly getting out of hand”
The diplomat added that “he would rather see the possibility of big problems for Russia not in the war situation itself, but in the fight in the Kremlin, which is already going on. – In the fight between (…) the military and, on the other hand, (Evgeny) Prigozhin and the Wagner Group, and the personnel supporting the Wagner Group, he pointed out.
– I think that there may be some resolution that may cause the downfall of President Putin – assessed Piekło.
Also Gen. Koziej said that “Putin apparently wants to somehow control the situation” because “it is slowly slipping out of hand.” “Putin’s recent moves show that he wants to bet on state structures,” he said. In his opinion, the Russian leader is betting on the state army, not mercenaries from the Wagner Group.
