Ukrainian forces shot down 16 out of 21 drones sent by Russia on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, the general staff of the Ukrainian army said. – The enemy does not stop attacking Kiev. Tonight, the terrorist country fired its deadly drones towards the capital again, said Serhiy Popko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration. Regional authorities reported three deaths and seven injuries in the region.

The Ukrainian general staff reported on Facebook that “last night the enemy carried out another massive attack using Shahed-136 unmanned aerial vehicles”, i.e. kamikaze drones.

Information about the shooting down of 16 out of 21 drones has been initially confirmed.

At night, an anti-aircraft alert was announced in Kiev and several Ukrainian regions. The air defense in the Kiev, Khmelnytsky and Zhytomyr regions reacted.

– The enemy does not stop attacking Kiev. That night, the terrorist country launched its deadly drones towards the capital again. According to preliminary information, these were Iranian “Shahed” drones. All targets detected in the airspace around Kiev were destroyed by our air defense forces, said Serhiy Popko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration.

While there were no casualties or damage in the country’s capital, at least three people were killed in the entire Kiev region.

“As a result of the drone attack carried out at night in the Kiev region, a civilian facility was damaged. For the time being, three fatalities and seven wounded are known,” the region’s authorities said in a statement. A fire broke out at the scene of the attack. A rescue operation is underway.

Shahed-136 drones, also referred to as kamikaze drones, are being delivered Russia by Iran.
