President Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed the commander of the United Armed Forces of Ukraine General Yuri Sodol. He is to take his place Andrij Hanatow. The decision was made after Monday's meeting with Sodół.

On Sunday, the day before the decision to resign, the chief of staff of the Azov National Guard Brigade Bohdan Krotewycz turned to the State Bureau of Investigation of Ukraine conducting an investigation into the case of General Sodol.

Ukraińska Pravda reported that Krotewycz allegedly had comments on Sodoł's activities. He accused him of “Exceeding powers and incompetent command of the army“, which led to numerous losses of soldiers.

As a result of his ineffective actions, the Russians were to occupy new areas of Ukraine. Therefore, the head of the Azov brigade asked to check the former commander in terms of cooperation with the occupier. “I wrote a letter to the SBI calling for an investigation into one military general who, in my opinion, killed more Ukrainian soldiers than any Russian general,” Krotewycz wrote on social media.

He also declared that he does not care whether an investigation is initiated against him or whether he goes to prison. He also wrote that he regrets that he didn't decide sooner for this step.

The former commander was replaced by Andriy Hanatov. According to the Ukrainian media, this is the former chief of staff of I Deputy Chief of Operational Command “South”.
