The Pentagon announced that North Korean forces had joined Russian forces in Kursk. As described by Reuters, Washington received signals that Kim's soldiers were killed and wounded.
– We have assessed that North Korean soldiers took part in the fighting in Kursk – the spokesman announced on Monday PentagonGeneral Pat Ryder. He added that there are indications that the North Korean army suffered losses there – soldiers were killed and injured.
The spokesman did not provide the exact number of casualties, but said that North Korean troops entered the fighting last week.

Zelensky on the presence of North Korean soldiers in the Kursk region
The press service of Ukraine's military intelligence (HUR) reported on Monday that North Korean troops lost at least 30 soldiers, killed or wounded, on Saturday and Sunday in attacks in the Kursk Oblast in the west Russia.
On Saturday, the president Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyin his daily address to citizens, noted that Moscow has begun to engage “noticeable number“North Korean soldiers in efforts to displace Ukrainian troops from the Kursk region of Russia.
Ukrainian troops entered the Kursk Oblast, bordering Ukraine, in August 2024 to relieve the forces fighting in the eastern regions of Ukraine by drawing away some of the Russian troops from there. To this day, they control a number of towns there.
Troops of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea appeared on the front in the Kursk Oblast at the turn of October and November this year. By sending troops to Russia, the authoritarian leader of North Korea Kim Jong Un he supported his ally Vladimir Putin in aggression against Ukraine.
