The Washington Post, using materials collected by the Ukrainian side, analyzed the differences between the actions of Russian and North Korean soldiers fighting in the war.
Recall, Kim Jong Un's fighters were sent to Europe primarily to help Russia retake the border region of Kursk.
According to the Ukrainians, the Russians took advantage of the “best for the guest” principle by properly preparing Asian soldiers for combat. This is evidenced primarily by the good weapons of the Koreans.
The following were found among the dead or captured: bulletproof vests, knives made in Ukraine, Russian assault riflesshovel or first aid kits.
Ukrainian military officials also noted that Russia was “preparing its new allies to take Ukrainian prisoners during combat operations.”
Fighting in the Kursk Oblast. Ukrainians speak highly of Koreans
Ukrainians they lavished praise towards fighters from the Far East. Comparing them with the Russians, it was concluded that the Koreans were, above all, better motivated to fight. Moreover, their participation in the war is not the result of financial but ideological reasons.
“Russian soldiers often fight under contracts for high salaries,” wrote the Washington Post.
The generosity of the Koreans was also appreciated. The available recordings show that “despite the risk of enemy attacks and causing additional casualties on multiple occasions they rushed to save their wounded comrades“.
In its analysis, the American daily noted that Pyongyang would use the “practical combat experience” of its people gained on the front. It's all about access to new technologies. This may be useful in case of a possible conflict Kim Jong Un's regime with the West.
