War in Ukraine has been going on for almost three years, and Volodymyr Zelensky he has been presenting elements of his own for several months peace plan. One of the conditions set by Kyiv are, among others, accession to NATO and inviolability of territories.

However, for some time now there have been reports that president of Ukrainy may change its demands slightly, and this could be achieved by, among others, victory Donald Trump in the presidential elections in USA. Now Jens Stoltenberg was also supposed to take up the topic of territory.

War in Ukraine. Russia will temporarily receive territories? Stoltenberg comments

Former Secretary General of NATOaccording to the publication of “Spiegel”, is currently discussing about temporary cession of territories to the Russian Federation.

– If the ceasefire line means that Russia still controls all occupied territories, this does not mean that Ukraine must give up this area forever – he said in an interview with “Table.Briefings”.

In Stoltenberg's opinion, “it is important that the government Kiev received security guarantees in exchange for the temporary transfer of territory.” He added that it could be accession to the North Atlantic Alliance, but in addition “There are also other ways to support Ukraine”.

War in Ukraine. Russia won't take over the territories? “Currently unlikely”

Although the former NATO chief supported Zelensky's demand that in the event ceasefire no territories have been transferred to the Russian Federation, it considers that “it is currently unlikely due to the military situation in Ukraine.

– We need a ceasefire line and, of course, it should ideally cover all the territories that Russia currently controls. But we see that this is not necessarily realistic in the near future, Stoltenberg emphasized.

Stoltenberg's idea to stop the war. There is a reaction from Moscow

Representatives of the authorities reacted to the idea presented by the former head of NATO Moscow. In my opinion Mikhail Sheremet, member of the Security Committee of the Russian State Dumasuch plans should be treated only as “fog of war”, media reports that have no basis in reality.

According to the politician, if Western countries actually wanted to implement such a scenario, this would actually mean starting preparations for the next stage of the war.

– The collective West needs a respite (…) Today the Kiev regime is bursting at the seams on all fronts, winter is coming, so we need buy time with curtsies for peace negotiations and illusory concessions – he said.

A similar opinion was expressed by Vladimir Rogov, who stated that similar solutions were tried to be used in the case of the Minsk agreements, where breaking of promises was assumed already at the stage of the initial talks.

The West only talks about negotiations, peace or a truce when it smells of failure. In fact, Stoltenberg admits that they are looking for opportunities to deceive Russia again. Agree to something and then break that agreement, he explained.
