There are reports that Russian forces are building fortifications around Mariupol. Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces are constantly carrying out attacks on Russian troops near the city, the Institute of War Studies reports in a recent report.
The American think tank refers to the entry of the adviser to the mayor of occupied Mariupol, Petr Andryushchenko, who wrote on the Telegram channel that “trucks with logs for the construction of dugouts pass through the streets of the city.”
Andryushchenko also published a video of a car transporting wood.
Earlier, Andryushchenko reported that on May 28, as a result of Ukrainian attacks on the area of concentration of Russian troops near Mariupol, at least 100 Russian soldiers were killed and over 400 wounded. It is about the attack carried out on the Russian barracks in occupied Yuriivka.
The Institute for War Studies reminds that Ukrainian forces also carried out rocket attacks on Mariupol on May 19 and 26.
The Ukrainian authorities of Mariupol, staying in areas controlled by Kiev, have recently regularly reported shelling of enemy positions in the occupied city.
The targets are mainly Russian military facilities.
