Ukrainian light infantry has moved to positions behind anti-tank ditches and concrete “dragon’s teeth” obstacles that are part of the Russian defense in the occupied western part of the Zaporizhia Oblast, the US Institute for War Studies (ISW) reported in its latest analysis.

According to American experts, Ukrainian forces probably intend to maintain the captured positions.

The War Research Institute said in its latest analysis that it “cannot assess whether Ukrainian forces have broken through the defensive line of Russian troops (in the western part of the Zaporizhia Oblast – ed.), because there is no Ukrainian heavy equipment in these areas.”

“Material published on September 4 indicates that Ukrainian forces approached the tree line east of the Russian anti-tank ditches and “dragon’s teeth” fortifications, which are part of the three-layer (Russian – ed.) defense west of the village of Verbowe (in the Zaporizhia Oblast – ed. )” – stated in the ISW analysis.

Geolocation data indicates that Ukrainian light infantry also moved further into prepared Russian defensive positions along the road leading northwest to the village of Verbove. In addition, Ukrainian forces moved to Russian defensive positions between the towns of Robotyne and Novoprokopivka,” American experts said.
