Blooming crocuses and catkins – nature had a spring false start this year. The high temperature for February confused plants in various regions of the country. We received photos of the first signs of “spring” on Kontakt 24.
The beginning of February turned out to be mild in Poland in terms of weather – in many places the temperature remains above zero. According to data from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management, on Saturday at 12 noon the highest value was recorded at the measuring station in Jelenia Góra, where thermometers showed 13.9 degrees Celsius. Temperatures were above zero in almost the entire country at this time.
First signs of flowering
The high air temperature for February surprised not only meteorologists. Nature also began to come to life prematurely. At Kontakt 24 we received photos of the first “spring” views – in places, as in Ornontowice in the Silesian Voivodeship, crocuses are poking through the soil, and catkins appear on willows, e.g. in Pomerania.
What about this winter?
As follows from weather forecasts, mild weather will remain over Poland. On Thursday in places Temperatures of around 14 degrees Celsius are expected once again.
However, tvnmeteo.pl forecaster Arleta Unton-Pyziołek predicts that the return of winter is possible, but for now we should be patient.
