In the town of Silin near Morąg (Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship), a driver died in an accident, most probably a moment earlier fatally hit a cyclist. The police are investigating the connections between these two events, informed Anna Balińska, a spokeswoman for the Ostróda police.
The spokeswoman reported that a cyclist was hit at around 6 p.m. on the provincial road 527 between Bramka and Morąg. The police already know his identity – he is a 60-year-old resident of the rural commune of Morąg.
About 300-400 meters away, a Toyota car was found in the ditch. The driver of this car was already dead.
According to Balińska, preliminary findings indicate that the Toyota driver probably hit a man riding a bicycle. The cyclist died on the spot. Then the driver moved away from the scene of the accident, about 300-400 meters further on the bend, he caught a tree and drove down to a ditch. He died on the spot.
