The crew of a sailboat on the Pisa River caught a power line, as a result of which two people from the boat fell into the water. A 14-year-old who was passing by rushed to help the injured sailors. The boy drowned.
The press officer of the police in Pisz, Anna Szypczyńska, said that the tragedy occurred on Tuesday afternoon on the Pisa River in Pisz. – A sailboat, which was sailing by six people, caught on a high-voltage line. As a result, two people were electrocuted, and they were hospitalized in a serious condition, she said.
The MOPR on duty said that in the place where the tragedy occurred, high-voltage lines were marked with signs on the shore, and there were bullets hanging on the lines themselves. The crew of the yacht on which the accident took place had already completed two lines, the mast of the boat caught the third, last line.
The 14-year-old wanted to help sailors
The sailor, burned by the current, fell overboard. The accident was seen by a 14-year-old from the Pisz commune, who was probably returning from the beach with his relatives. – The boy went to help, unfortunately he drowned himself – said Szypczyńska. The MOPR on duty added that the boy was probably electrocuted.
After the search, the body of the 14-year-old was found by firefighters, and the medics present at the scene immediately confirmed his death.
