The Chief Sanitary Inspectorate reported on Wednesday about the migration of harmful substances from a set of kitchen utensils – a spoon, a slotted spoon and a spatula. The product is being withdrawn from stores. “The products indicated in the announcement should not be used for contact with food,” we read in the GIS announcement.

GIS said in a statement that it had been informed through the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) about the withdrawal of a set of three kitchen utensils due to the identified migration of primary aromatic amines into food. The product concerned: 7410500 Set of kitchen utensils (3 pieces) with batch number: Q 116784. Barcode: 8003512787676. The importer is Pengo SpA Italy Via A. Pigafetta n°3, Bassano del Grappa (VI), 36061. Distributor in Poland: Action Logistic Poland Sp. z o. o., ul. Wojewódzka 10, 40-026 Katowice. Inspection authorities oversee the recall of these products.

Primary aromatic amines are substances harmful to health. “The products indicated in the announcement should not be used for contact with food,” we read in the GIS announcement.

Action has advised that if you have the above item with lot number Q 116784, stop using it and return it to an Action store.

Warnings regarding food or products that come into contact with food are regularly published on the website of the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate. These announcements – as GIS emphasizes – are not intended to stigmatize entrepreneurs, but to take immediate action: returning products to the store or withdrawing them from the assortment. Thanks to cooperation with food industry companies, consumers can be informed about the threat quickly and effectively.
