IMGW warns of heavy rain with storms. In three provinces, third-degree, highest-level alarms are in effect. Storm and heat warnings are also in effect.

Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMWM) issued first, second and third degree meteorological warnings on a three-point, ascending scale.

IMWM warnings of the third degree – heavy rain with thunderstorms

Warnings of the third, highest level of heavy rain from storms issued in the following voivodeships:

  • Masovianin the counties of: Maków, Ciechanów, Pułtusk, Wołomin, Gostynin, Płock, Płońsk, Nowy Dwór, Legionowo, West Warsaw, WarsawPruszków, Grodzisk, Żyrardów, Grójec, Piaseczno, Garwolin, Białobrzegi and Kozienice;
  • Lublinin the counties of Łuków, Radzyń, Biała Podlaska, White Podlasie;
  • Podlasiein the counties of Siemiatycze, Bielsk, Hajnówka.

Moderate to heavy rainfall is forecast. Rainfall amounts will range from 80 to 90 liters per square meter, with local amounts up to 100 l/sq m. Rainfall will be accompanied by storms with wind gusts of up to 80 kilometers per hour, and hail is possible.

IMWM warnings of the second degree – storms

Second degree storm warnings are in effect in the following provinces:

  • Subcarpathianoutside the western counties;
  • Lublinin the eastern and northern counties;
  • Masovianin the counties: SiedlceSiedlce, Łosice;
  • Podlasieexcept for the northern and western counties.

Thunderstorms are forecast, which in places will be accompanied by very heavy rainfall from 35-55 l/m2, and wind gusts of up to 90 km/h. Locally, hail is possible.

Second degree alerts for heavy rain and thunderstorms are in force in the following provinces:

  • Masovian, in the counties of Ostrołęka, Ostrołęka;

Yellow warnings for heavy rain and thunderstorms were issued in the provinces Masovian, in the counties of Przasnysz, Mława, Żuromin, Sierpc.

Moderate rainfall is forecast, with periods of heavy rainfall. The amount of rainfall in places will reach 40 to 50 l/m2. The rainfall will be accompanied by storms with wind gusts of up to 70 km/h. Hail is possible.

IMGW warns of heat. Orange warnings apply in the following provinces:

  • Subcarpathianin the counties of: Lubaczów, Przeworsk, Jarosław, Przemyśl, Industry;
  • Lublinin the counties of Biłgoraj, Tomaszów, ZamoscZamość, Hrubieszów, Krasnostaw, Chełm, ChełmWlodawa.

Maximum daytime temperatures will range from 29 to 32 degrees Celsius. Warnings will be valid until 8 p.m. Wednesday.
