Warsaw. 80+ program. List of roads for renovation in summer 2025

The Municipal Road Administration presented renovation plans for this year's summer at the beginning of the week. The list is long. In total, these are over 80 tasks related to the replacement of the surface on the roads, renovations of pavements and bicycle routes. The road budget includes record savings.

On Tuesday, ZDM presented this year's “80+” program. This number refers to the list of tasks planned for a long weekend and the whole holiday. During their presentation, the director of ZDM Łukasz Puchalski announced that in 2025 road workers could boast of large savings. – We are very pleased with decisions in the tender procedures that are behind us – he said during a meeting with journalists. – We have several million savings on each tender. In total, PLN 30 million was collected – he concluded.

– There is also the second source from which money returns to us – said the director of ZDM, reminding about the exchange of luminaires in street lighting to energy -saving in recent years. He reported that the investment pays in the form of savings of PLN 20 million a year. – We can use this money for other purposes – he noted.

Puchalski said that thanks to saved money, subsequent tenders for investments planned for the third and fourth quarters of the year are launched. – the moment to invest is very good and we want to use it as much as possible, though Coordination is a big problem due to the activity of Warsaw trams. We cannot apply one work to the other – said Puchalski.

Earlier they started preparations for the season

This year, road workers could earlier began preparations for summer renovations, thanks to the funds awarded to them by the Warsaw Council at the end of last year. – We have introduced significantly larger funds for this budget year, both in terms of tram repairs as well as maintenance and development works – pointed out Vice President Tomasz Mencina, responsible for the capital's roads and investments.

– This allowed to carry out all tender procedures effectively and save money. We shot ourselves in a good atmosphere for ordering entities. It seems that there were fewer works on the market, so there were more international contractors such as Strabag, Skanska or Balzola, interested in smaller robots – explained the vice president.

He announced that this model of preparation for summer renovations will be continued next year.

From the beginning of the season, road workers have been carried out several weekend milling machines (including Wisłostrada, Sosnkowski, Wóycicki). – June was difficult for us. Marches, elections, rallies. We had a pause in work for three weeks. Until now, six streets have already been renovated, completely rebuilding Jan Kazimierza Street, the greenery at Świętojerska and Central Square enjoys the eye – calculated Puchalski.

In May, some works on ongoing investments, for example, as part of the preparation of a new center of Warsaw, could be disturbed by rainy weather. As noted by Vice President of Mencina, at the same time the rainy month favored greening the renovated streets.

Ongoing work

The long June weekend is used for work on four streets: Kasprzaka, Pułkowa, Kościuszko and Bora-Komorowski. Road workers will replace a total of 30,000 square meters of asphalt.

We would like to remind you that on the Marszałkowska section from Świętokrzyska to the street Widzen Tramwajars coordinate work with the Municipal Roads Board. The temporary organization of traffic has already been introduced there, but before the works at the track, road workers, Skanska, must carry out work on the sides of the road, related to the construction of new pedestrian crossings and bicycle crossings at Złota and Sienkiewicz. From Monday, drivers have been waiting for further changes in traffic.

Upcoming road repairs

Road workers have prepared an interactive map on which all sentences planned for the summer were marked. Renovations of the road will take place on over 20 streets. In several places, in addition to the new surface, there will also be pavements, roads or bicycle journeys or solutions to improve safety (asylum, calming down traffic).

The list included, among others, the streets: – Jana Olbrachta (Redutowa – Górczewska), – Połczyńska (Dźwigowa – Fort Wola, – Żerańska (Modlińska – Klembowska), – Senatorska (Moliera – Miodowa), – Jan Paweł II in Wesoła, – Gdynia coast (Wenedów – Krasiński), – Grochowska (Wiatracza – Międzyboracka), Broniewski (Pl. Grunwaldzki – Krasiński), – Puławska (from number 280 to Płaskowicka), – Ostrobramska (from number 77 to Rodziewiczówna), – Wolska (Syrena – Sokołowska).

New bicycle paths and existing repairs

ZDM plans also apply to the construction of missing fragments of bicycle routes, crossings and repairs of existing sections. Director Puchalski announced, among others Announcement of a tender for the next part of the bicycle path in Aleja Jana Pawła II near Hala Mirowska. He added that thanks to savings, the scope of renovation of the bicycle path on the Siekierkowski bridge will increase. An additional tender has been written outside the object, running along the allotment gardens in Siekierki to Wisłostrada.

The paths to Anielewicz, Ciszewski, Starzyński and Mother Teresa of Calcutta and Chodecka will also undergo renovations.

New bicycle paths will be built on Marszałkowska (on the eastern side of the road, the Świętokrzyska – Królewska) section, Andres (Dworzec Gdański – Nowolipki), Okrzei (Wybrzeże Szczecińskie – Jagiellońska) and Wołoska (Domaniewska – European Union roundabout).

In 17 locations, works on the sidewalks will take place. An additional pedestrian and bicycle ramp will be built on the Grochowski abutment.
