On Sunday, there was a fire in the basement of a block of flats in Stegny, Warsaw. Six fire brigades fought the fire. Five stalls burned down.
The incident took place at Limanowskiego Street. The services were alerted a few minutes before 9 a.m. The report concerned a fire in the basement.
– Six fire brigades arrived at the scene. Our actions consisted of extinguishing the fire and protecting the staircases against smoke, Artur Kamiński from the Municipal Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Warsaw told us.
Five basements burned down
He added that about 30 residents evacuated before the arrival of the services. – Noone hurt. The fire spread to five basements and has already been extinguished. Apartments are being checked with a detector to allow the residents to return, the firefighter said after 11 a.m.
Tomasz Zieliński from tvnwarszawa.pl went to the site. – Several stalls were burned. The residents were already at home after 12 p.m., but unfortunately there was still a burning smell in the stairwells – described our reporter.
