In Praga Północ, at Kawęczyńska Street, the attic of a tenement house is on fire. Firefighters are on site. There is no information about injured persons.
A tenement house located at the intersection of Kawęczyńska and Folwarczna Streets is on fire. We received the first photo from the place of the fire on Contact 24. It shows the fire on the roof of the building. Puffs of thick smoke rise above the tenement house.
“Just a moment ago, the fire was coming out of the window. At the moment we see dark smoke. There is quite a lot of it. Firefighters work with two hoists. The street is currently blocked. There are no major traffic problems – Artur Węgrzynowicz, a tvnwarszawa.pl reporter, who was at the scene, reported after 3 pm on TVN24.
According to the Warsaw Public Transport, “due to the activities of the services at the Kawęczyńska/Folwarczna intersection”, lines 7 and 73 have been shortened to the Dworzec Wschodni loop.
Fire department: attic fire, no one lives in the tenement house
– This is a building that was not inhabited, so we are talking about a vacant fire here. There is no information about the injured people, everything indicates that no one was inside – said the tvnwarszawa.pl reporter.
We asked the fire department about the incident. – It’s an attic fire. No one lives in the tenement house, there are no injured people. The fire has been located and is not developing. There are 11 hosts, i.e. 40 firefighters, on the spot. The firefighting operation is underway, firefighters have started pouring structural elements, said senior captain Adam Strąk from the capital’s fire brigade before 4 pm.
