The city guard detained a graffitir who painted the pillar of the Łazienkowski bridge in the Prague shore. If the 33-year-old did the same on the other side of the crossing, he would not suffer any consequences.
On Saturday, city guards patrolled around Miedzeszyński Wał at the height of the Łazienkowska route. At the pillar of the bridge they noticed a man with a can of paint in his hand. During a conversation with the guards, the 33-year-old confirmed that he was the author of a stylized inscription in shades of yellow, greenery and blue with an area of about six square meters.

According to the Code of offenses, the perpetrator of placing a drawing or inscription in an unpopular public place without the consent of the managing this place is punishable by the penalty of restriction of liberty or a fine of up to PLN 5,000. The court may also order to cover the costs of restoring the destroyed place to the previous state.

Legal graffiti
According to the Municipal Roads Authority, in Warsaw, since 2009, places where street art creators can freely paint graffiti. “In this way we want to stop the creation of paintings, in places that are not intended for this – old tenement houses, apartment blocks or public buildings – but not cutting wings to artists” – explains ZDM.
Places available for graffiti drivers are marked with a special yellow plate with a blue background spray. These are mainly road viaducts.
