On Monday, the foundation stone was laid for the construction of a modern cultural center in Ursus. A cinema, studios and a spectacle room for half a thousand people will be created.
The new building will be replaced by the worn out facility of the Arsus Culture Center.
– This is a very, very important moment. Ursus is one of the largest and dynamically developing districts in Warsaw. That is why it is very important that all services, especially cultural, are provided to a high standard and are available close to home. It will be created here, among others Cinema, studios and a spectacle room for 500 people, in which concerts, theater performances, but also the dance competition of children and youth or conferences will be able to take place. It is very important that there would be such a place in the close district of the inhabitants – said Vice President of Warsaw Aldona Machnowska -Góra cited in the town hall.

A spectacle at the bottom
The town hall assessed that the construction of a modern, municipal cultural center with a spectacle room for 500 people, a cinema with a room for nearly 150, many artistic studios and a professional recording studio are “a breakthrough investment for the local community and very awaited by residents and residents of the district.”

The two -story building at Kazimierza Gierdziejewskiego Street will be built on the set of the letter “L” due to the arrangement of the two largest rooms of the building. The first is a modern spectacular scene with the audience on the ground floor and balcony, which will accommodate 500 people. The second room is a cinema room, where in comfortable conditions 144 viewers will be able to watch film screenings. The ground floor also provides space for children who will have care for the duration of events in the auditorium or cinema rooms. Both rooms will be connected by a spacious hall, in which there will be a place for a cloakroom, cafe and sanitary facilities. There will also be a gallery with a separate entrance on the ground floor.
Artistic studios at the top
The floors of the building were conceived for people who want to realize their artistic passions. A dozen or so specially equipped rooms will be built there, where art, painting, sculptural, ceramic, theater, film, dance and musical classes will be organized. In addition, there will be club rooms, as well as a fully equipped recording studio. The building will also be equipped with renewable energy sources and will be available to the disabled.
The contractor of the new Culture Center is a consortium of PBO Śląsk Sp. z o. o. Z MTM Budownictwo Sp. z o. o., and the author of the project is GID Grzegorz Brewczyński. The investment is to be ready at the end of 2027.
