Work is underway on Czerniakowska Street. Road workers are replacing curbs and preparing for milling. The right lane is closed to traffic before Bartycka Street, and work is also underway in a small bay. And that's where the problem lies, or rather the car.
The car left in the middle of the works was noticed by Artur Węgrzynowicz, a reporter from tvnwarszawa.pl. – The car has been standing on Czerniakowska Street, in front of the intersection with Bartycka Street, for several days. It is standing in a place where there is no parking ban, the road workers cannot do anything with it. Therefore, the renovation works cannot be carried out on the entire section, because the car is standing in one place – described the reporter. He added that the road workers' works extend from Chełmska Street.
The car is parked in a designated bay. Most of it is on the pavement. The rear wheels are on the asphalt. Around it you can see a construction site, excavators are working, next to the car there is a small excavation – a channel for new curbs. There are also paving slabs nearby.
“Does not prevent work”
We asked the Municipal Roads Authority about the situation and its inconvenience. – The Road Repair and Maintenance Authority is preparing the curbs and bays for the planned milling soon. There is indeed a car in one of the bays, but it does not prevent work – emphasized Jakub Dybalski, spokesman for the Municipal Roads Authority. He added that road workers have already contacted the owner of the car, who will move the car.
What do road workers do when a parked or abandoned car is blocking the works? – Generally, we can handle such situations. As a last resort, if the situation is unavoidable, the car can be towed away, but these are rather rare situations – Dybalski emphasized. He clarified that they have no problem with this.
