Tramwaje Warszawskie received information about the incident at 7:23 p.m. – A pedestrian was hit by tram line 76 traveling south. The victim was resuscitated. The incident occurred at a pedestrian crossing with traffic lights, said Maciej Dutkiewicz, spokesman for Tramwaje Warszawskie.
Mateusz Szmelter, a reporter for tvnwarszawa.pl, was on site. – The man was resuscitated, but unfortunately he died. On site, tram traffic is blocked in both directions. There are several police cars and an ambulance. The police carry out activities under the supervision of the prosecutor, the reporter reported.
The police received a report about the incident at 7:22 p.m. – A pedestrian was fatally hit by tram line 76. He is a 64-year-old man. Initial information from the police shows that the man did not obey the traffic lights and ran into the tram at a red light. As a result of his injuries, he died on the spot. The tram driver was tested for alcohol content and is sober. Tram traffic is suspended. Car traffic is running smoothly, said Jacek Wiśniewski from the Warsaw Police Headquarters.
Information about the difficulties was provided by the Public Transport Authority. “Due to the blocked crossing in the area of Powstańców Śląskich Street/Plac Kasztelański, there are difficulties in the operation of line 76. Possible delays and diversion of the line,” the announcement said at 7:35 p.m.

Due to the suspension of tram traffic on street Powstańców Śląskich, in the area of the “pl. Kasztelański” stop complex, the Z26 bus line runs in two directions on the extended route: os. Górczewska 03 – Górczewska – Powstańców Śląskich – Połczyńska – Wolska – Metro Płocka 01.
