Due to the accident at the Warszawa Śródmieście stop, there were disruptions in the operation of SKM and KM trains in the capital and the surrounding area for several hours. Carriers reported delays.
Szybka Kolej Miejska reported on social media that there was an accident involving a person at the Warszawa Śródmieście stop. As a result, there were traffic disruptions for all carriers on the cross-city line.
Delays in train running
“Therefore, from 4:20 p.m. until further notice, all SKM trains on lines S1 and S2 in the WEST direction will run through the long-distance cross-city line and the Warszawa Centralna station, excluding the Stadion, Powiśle, Śródmieście and Ochota stops. Delays above are possible. 30 minutes. Additionally, SKM train: – S1 line no. 99350/1 from Otwock station (departure: at 17:02) to the Pruszków station was canceled on the entire route, – S1 line no. 99258/9 from the Pruszków station (departure at 18:59) to the Otwock station was canceled on the entire route, – S2 line no. 10852/ 3 from Sulejówek Miłosna station (departure at 17:12) to Warsaw Chopin Airport station was canceled throughout relation, – line S2 no. 97254!5 from the Warsaw Chopin Airport station (departure at 18:25) to the Sulejówek Miłosna station was canceled on the entire route,” the carrier said.
Traffic has been restored on both tracks
In a later announcement, SKM announced: “At around 6:10 p.m., traffic was restored on both tracks on the suburban cross-city line. Currently, the scheduled traffic of SKM trains on the S1 and S2 lines in both directions is being restored. Due to secondary traffic disruptions, the SKM train on the S1 line: – No. 99352/3 Otwock station (departure at 17:29) to Pruszków station was canceled on the entire route, – No. 99260/1 from the Pruszków station (departure at 7:29 p.m.) to the Otwock station was canceled on the entire route.
