One person died as a result of a fire in the attic of a tenement house on Miedziana Street in Wola. The district office reported that two families were sent to alternative housing.
– After a fire in the tenement house at 8 Miedziana Street, two apartments are no longer suitable for use. Two families need housing assistance, said Marcin Jakubik, spokesman for the Wola district.
He emphasized that both families had already received decisions on the allocation of alternative housing. After signing contracts for the supply of energy and other utilities, they will be able to live there.
He also appealed to the remaining residents of the tenement house to report to the district office or social welfare center if they need psychological help. Employees of the Wola Real Estate Management Board secured the roof, which was cut by the fire brigade during the fire extinguishing operation. – A thorough renovation of the roof will probably be necessary. Arranging the details of the renovation will require cooperation with the conservator of monuments, because the building is in the municipal register of monuments, Jakubik noted.
