The police evicted anarchists from the Zaczyn squat in Wyględow, “Gazeta Wyborcza” reported. The squat, previously located in Kamionek, changed its location on Tuesday, May 14.

The collective occupied a vacant building in Wyględów, unused for five years – reports “GW”. Various artistic activities were to take place there in protest against expensive apartments in the capital.

“The police cut off a part of Miączyńska Street, where the occupied building is located. With the help of firefighters, poured with paint and water from above, the officers forced the locked door and took all the people staying there from the building,” we read in “GW”. “The people who barricaded themselves did not want to talk to police officers from the Anti-Conflict Team. When they tried to open the door, police officers and firefighters were attacked with dangerous objects, tear gas, and paint and feces were poured on them,” we read in the 10th capital police report.

According to the police on X (formerly Twitter), 17 people were detained. “A notification has already been received from the building's administrator on the suspicion of committing a crime involving violation of security (i.e. Art. 193. of the Penal Code),” we read on the KSP profile.

At the end of February, the police and the bailiff unexpectedly evicted the Zaczyn squat from its previous location. At that time, neither the residents' lawyer nor Dorota Olko, an MP who was on site, was allowed to enter the facility.
