Trams warn against subsequent difficulties related to the construction of the route to the West Railway Station. On the first weekend of March, tram traffic on Banacha Street will be suspended. Drivers will also go differently.
The new tram route will improve the communication of the West Railway Station with the center and southern districts of Warsaw. The station becomes one of the most important communication nodes in this part of the city. The tram will take passengers directly to the platform area. For now, the investment is associated with difficulties.
“At the beginning of February, the contractor – a consortium of ZUE and Fable companies – took one of the roads of Grójecka Street at the intersection from the Battle of Warsaw 1920. Asphalt was already being built and the first earthworks started at the reconstruction of numerous underground installations. The works are carried out in such a way as to ensure the largest possible passage of the main communication routes – including primarily Grójecka Street ” – they inform in The latest message of Warsaw trams.

Changes for trams and buses
On the first weekend of March, Warsaw trams will change traffic organization at Banacha Street – at the intersection with Grójecka. The tram tram to the Banach loop will also be suspended. This is a short episode – without trams service, one stop team will remain on the loop itself.
Line trams 1, 14 and 25 They will not reach the Banach loop. The “One” route will be extended to the P+R al. Krakowska; At the same time, the variant courses of the trams of this line – to Narutowicza Square – will not change. Line trams will also end at the loop on this Ochocki square 7, 14 and 25; Line trams 9 and 15 As before, they will run to the P+R al. Krakowska.
The tram traffic on Banacha Street will be suspended until the end of the year.
Travel routes for line buses 154, 157, 167, 191, 208, 414, 521 and nighttime N01 and N43 They won't change. The Battle of Warsaw Battle of 1920 will be liquidated. 06 – that is, the one where buses driving towards the West Railway Station stopped. In return, the buses will take passengers from the Przystanek Provisional Battle of Warsaw 1920 56 – located at a closed tram stop at Banacha Street.

Drivers will also go differently
Drivers must also count on changes. The builders will close the road of Banacha Street currently used to ride the Battle of Warsaw 1920 – from PawiÅ„ski to Grójecka. In both directions, the drivers will travel on the southern road, which they currently drive only towards Å»wirka and Wigura. From Banach at the intersection with Grójecka you will be able to go in two directions: straight, towards the Battle of Warsaw 1920 or to the right, to Grójecka Street to the center. Buses going straight will get priority, so in order not to block them, you will not be able to turn left towards Aleja Krakowska. The detour will lead through the streets of PawiÅ„skiego and Dickensa.

Traffic will also be postponed on the fragment of Bitwy Warszawska 1920 street directly at the intersection with Grójecka – from the north road to the southern road. All relationships will be preserved for drivers driving along the Batvae of Warsaw 1920. The rules of movement in Grójecka, where traffic in the area of work takes place on one road, does not change.
Underground work
After the implementation of a new traffic organization, the Contractor will start rebuilding another part of the underground installations. Under the intersection and all its inlets there is a thicket of several dozen different pipes, networks and cables, which must be adapted to the new communication system, including new, previously non -existent tracks. These are Large heating network, water magistrates, gas network, power and teletechnical networks and sewage network.
In accordance with applicable building regulations, appropriate distances between the elements of underground and ground infrastructure must be maintained. All installations will be adapted to adopt additional loads due to changes in the communication system on the surface. The reconstruction also takes into account the consumption of existing installations. Thanks to comprehensive work, the risk of digging this important intersection and the newly built infrastructure due to failure will be eliminated.
After the underground work is completed, the construction of a new track system will start. The intersection of tracks will be created here – the so -called Full star – enabling tram movement in all directions. In connection with the appearance of new tram relationships, it is also necessary to adapt dehydration, movement control networks and power supply.
“Organization of traffic at the intersection of Grójecka Streets, the Battle of Warsaw 1920 and Banacha will change many times as the works progress. The next stages will be associated with closing the inlets of Banach or the Battle of Warsaw 1920, as well as temporary suspension of tram traffic to the Banach loop and P+R Krakowska. The track will also be renovated between Narutowicza Square and the intersection of Banach and the Battle of Warsaw 1920. This will minimize the difficulties for passengers. Warsaw.
New tram route
As part of the investment, a 1.6-kilometer tram route with a 500-meter tram tunnel will be built to the West Railway Station. The underground end stop will be connected by escalator and elevators directly with the underground crossing, extended as part of the work at the railway station.

The route to the West Railway Station is part tram to Wilanówi.e. the peripheral route, which will ultimately connect his will, desire with Mokotów and Wilanów. The investment, due to the scope, is divided into stages – some are already functioning, some are under construction and some in design.
