Warsaw. Being hit by an SKM train in Falenica

A Warsaw-Otwock Fast Urban Railway train hit a man in Falenica. The wounded man was taken to the hospital. There are difficulties on the Otwock line – traffic is on one track.

The incident took place at the intersection of Halna and Patriotów streets. The police received the information after 1 p.m.

– A man was hit by an SKM train from Warsaw to Otwock. The police are conducting activities on the spot – said Bartłomiej Śniadała from the capital’s police.

“Wild Track Crossing”

Artur Węgrzynowicz, tvnwarszawa.pl reporter, was there.

– A man was hit by an SKM train. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital. The hit-and-run occurred in a place where there is a wild passage across the tracks. There is a well-trodden path there,” the reporter reported.

As the reporter added, one fire brigade arrived on the spot to help evacuate the train passengers.

Difficulties on the Otwock line

The Polish Railway Lines also informed about the event.

“Today at 1:05 p.m. outside the crossings, in an unauthorized place, on the route between Falenica and Warsaw Wawer, an outsider broke into the SKM passenger train from Warszawa Aleje Jerozolimskie – Otwock. The causes of the event will be determined by a special commission. Rescue services and police are already on site Anna Znajewska-Pawluk from the press team of PKP PLK informed in a press release.

“Train traffic is run on one track. Changes in trains take about 30 minutes” – she added.

SKM informed about delays of S1 and S10 trains, reaching 60 minutes.
