In Warsaw, on Kochanowskiego and Broniewskiego streets, there were two machete attacks. The manhunt lasted several hours, the police published photos of the wanted cyclist. After 4 p.m., the man suspected of these attacks was detained. The 37-year-old had with him, among other things, a machete, a gas canister and a baton.
“A man attacked two people on Kochanowskiego and Broniewskiego streets with an object resembling a machete. The incident took place today (November 3 – ed.) around 8.40 a.m. The perpetrator was riding a dark mountain bike, ladies’ bike,” the police said in an afternoon statement.
After 4:30 p.m., an entry appeared on the profile of the Warsaw Police on the X platform: “Important! Just now, the Warsaw police detained a man suspected of today’s attacks in Warsaw.”

The information was also briefly confirmed by Jacek Wiśniewski from the press department of the Warsaw Police Headquarters. – The man has been detained and procedural activities are planned for him – said the policeman.
TVN24 reporter Jan Piotrowski established that the man was taken to the Bielany police station.

Three thousand policemen in action
“Due to the nature of the events, the priority of the capital police was to quickly apprehend the dangerous aggressor, hence three thousand police officers from district and specialist commands, the criminal department, WWP, OPP and SPKP were involved. None of the policemen were injured,” they reported on the X platform ( d.Twitter) capital policemen.

The mayor of Bielany, Grzegorz Pietruczuk, thanked the police and city guards for the effective action that led to the arrest of the suspect suspected of attacking passers-by.
“In connection with the situation that took place today in Bielany and Wola, I would like to thank the Capital Police Headquarters and the City Guard in Warsaw, and in particular the officers from the Warsaw V – Bielany, Żoliborz District Police Headquarters for the effective action that led to the arrest of the person suspected of today’s attacks. on random passers-by,” Pietruczuk wrote on social media.

Appeal from the President of Warsaw
“Due to the attacks that took place today in two districts – Bielany and Wola, I asked the Warsaw Police Headquarters to send additional patrols to the streets of Warsaw and engage all forces to identify and arrest the attacker as soon as possible,” he wrote on social media. before the police announced the arrest of the wanted mayor of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski.
He added that he recommended that schools, kindergartens and places where most residents gather be immediately placed under special supervision. “The forces of the City Guard were involved in the action. Aggression is not allowed,” he said.
We reported about the case on tvnwarszawa.pl. The cyclist had attack random pedestrians in Bielany, Warsaw. However, Artur Węgrzynowicz from tvnwarszawa.pl learned that there was to be a third attack: in Lasek na Koło. There, the cyclist allegedly sprayed gas on a pedestrian. According to PAP reports, he was also supposed to be detained there.
The police admitted that a similar incident actually took place in Wola, near Lasek na Koło. A man on a bicycle was also supposed to attack there, but with gas. For now, there is no official confirmation that it was the same perpetrator.
