– A few days ago, a Ukrainian citizen came to the Bielany office to exchange his driving license. The official had great doubts as to the legality and authenticity of the document, so the case was reported to the police. It quickly turned out that the 42-year-old had bought a driving license in Ukraine and was hoping that he would be able to deceive the official and obtain a Polish driving license based on a false document – the deputy inspector describes in the press release. The 42-year-old was detained and taken to the police station at Żeromskiego Street. There, he was charged with submitting a forged document and certifying untruth by misleading an official. He faces several years in prison.

Art. 270. § 1. Whoever, in order to use it as authentic, counterfeits or alters a document or uses such a document as authentic, shall be subject to the penalty of imprisonment from 3 months to 5 years.
