On Monday after 8 a.m. a branch fell on the traction network on Nowowiejska Street. There are firefighters on site who remove the obstacle from the tracks. There are detours for trams.
We received the first information about the difficulties at Contact 24.
It was confirmed by the spokesman of Warsaw Trams, Maciej Dutkiewicz. He pointed out that after 8 o’clock a branch fell on the overhead contact line at 26 Nowowiejska Street. Before 9 o’clock the tram drivers decided to turn off the voltage on the impassable section. – The firefighters’ operations started at 8.43. It was necessary to switch off the voltage on a larger distance. From what I was told, it’s a larger limb that firefighters are cutting. Therefore it takes some time. We estimate that the difficulties will last from a dozen to several dozen minutes and we will be able to restore traffic, the spokesman told us after 9 o’clock.
