Warsaw. Broken traction network in Niepodległości

Tram passengers will face major difficulties. In Aleja Niepodległości, a truck broke the traction network. A spokesman for Warsaw Trams warns that the repair may take up to several hours.

Information about the damage to the traction network of trams in Aleja Niepodległości was received by the services before 2 p.m. 9. – The network was broken at the height of the Central Statistical Office. The reason was the passage of a truck with a crane raised. As a result of this incident, one of the trams was damaged, its window was broken. No one was hurt – said Maciej Dutkiewicz, spokesman for Warsaw Trams.

He noted that the damage to the network is extensive and covers the section from the Central Statistical Office to Batory. – Our technical services are on site and have already started repairing the network – assured Dutkiewicz. “This could take several hours,” he warned.

Reporter tvnwarszawa.pl Tomasz Zieliński, who was on the spot, reported that the intersection of Aleja Niepodległości and Batory Street is partially blocked.

Due to the ongoing construction of the tram line to Wilanów and the closure of a part of the route along Puławska and Marszałkowska Streets from Plac Zbawiciela to Dworkowa, the line leading through Aleja Niepodległości is the only one that currently connects Śródmieście and Mokotów.

Three lines changed routes

According to the Public Transport Authority, three tram lines have changed their routes:

– line 4 has been divided into two sections: on the northern side: Eastern Żerań – … – Nowowiejska – Chałubiński – John Paul II – Al. Solidarity – … – Eastern Żerań; on the south side: Racing – Woronicza – Wołoska – Marynarska – PKP Służewiec; – line 17 has been divided into two sections: on the northern side: Vineyard – … – Chałubiński – Nowowiejska – Marszałkowska – Andersa – Stawki – Al. John Paul II – … – Vineyard ;on the south side: PKP Służewiec – … – Woronicza – Puławska – Al. Wilanowska; – line 33 runs on the route: Metro Mlociny – … – Chałubiński – Nowowiejska – Krzywicki – Filtrowa – pl. Narutowicz

A replacement bus line has been launchedFOR THE TRAM” on the route: SPARTAŃSKA 01 – Spartańska – Woronicza – Wołoska – św. A. Boboli – Rakowiecka – al. Niepodległości (return: Batory) – Chałubiński – al. Jana Pawła II – Rondo ONZ 01.
